Cluj-Napoca is the second largest city in Romania and represents the “Heart of Transylvania”. It was named as Municipium Aelium Hadrianum Napoca during early 2nd c. AD. Presently, it is considered the “Silicon Valley” of Eastern Europe and hosts 6 State Universities and 4 private universities, including the largest Romanian University, the Babeș-Bolyai University.

The International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj-Napoca is connected to France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Ireland, Portugal, Cyprus, Israel, the United Kingdom, and Turkey. Several daily domestic flights Cluj-Napoca – Bucharest are proposed by private and state-owned airlines. Travelling from the airport to Cluj-Napoca downtown is possible by public transport (lines 5 and 8) and taxis. Tickets could be purchased directly within the public transport vehicles with a credit card.
An evolving motorway network will soon allow the connection of Cluj-Napoca to Budapest and Bucharest.
The modernization of the railway network is less evolved; however, slow-speed train connections are available to Bucharest, Budapest, and Vienna.
